Although Contracts are offered based on location, it is sometimes necessary to move staff from one camp to another based on client numbers.

Description:

This post is perfect for anyone aspiring to be an outdoor instructor or anyone with a passion for the outdoors who would like to gain experience working with children.

We will provide full training in all of our on-site activities and a first aid course prior to being in charge of groups.

Working on our summer camps is the best way to into our highly successful and popular trainee instructor scheme which runs from January every year at our main site in North Yorkshire.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with groups and skills in one or more areas of outdoor activities.

If you can handle living in a tent for the length of the contract through good weather and bad whilst still turning up for work happy and enthusiastic every day, then you are the right person for this job!

COOK’S ASSISTANT – RESIDENTIAL SUMMER CAMP – LIVE IN

Beaudesert, Staffs – Monday 19 June  – Friday 18 August 2017

Forest Camp, Cheshire – Monday 19 June – Friday 11 August 2017

We require Assistant Cooks for our Residential Summer Camps. The position will require the successful candidate to be part of a small team preparing and serving three quality meals a day for up to 300 young people and staff. The basic menu is balanced to provide the required nutrition, for the guests, using good quality but simple ingredients.

An example menu would be:

Breakfast – Cereal, Toast, Fruit Juice, Porridge, Baked Beans.
Lunch – Sandwiches (the guests make their own), Crisps, Fruit, Flapjack.
Evening Meal – Pasta Bolognese, Chocolate Muffin.

For this position, the cook’s assistant will be supporting the cook and pot washers to ensure the ‘end result’ ie: the correct meal served at the correct time, happens for our clients. The hours the Assistant works and the style of work will be at the cook’s discretion but will be a basic split shift of around 7 hours per day. The assistant will be required to be on-site, during the day, as part of the High Adventure Team and will provide meals from Monday lunch to Friday lunch. Living in – Tent provided.

Wage: £250 per week

 

KITCHEN PORTERS/POT WASHERS

Staffordshire, Cheshire, West Lancashire

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for Kitchen Assistants to work at our summer activity camp sites around the UK.

The main duties will be mostly washing up and generally supporting the Cook.

Split shift approx 35 hours per week, specific hours and duties will vary according to the site and the size of the group.

You will be required to live on-site.

REQUIREMENTS

If you are interested in working with young people, in this job you will be part of a team doing just that in the outdoors. Your split shift will allow you time to join some of the afternoon activities and get an insight into what it would be like to be an instructor if you wished to join us another year in another role.

 

CLEANERS

Location:

Staffordshire, Cheshire, West Lancashire

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for cleaners to work during our summer activity camp sites around the UK.

The role will involve split shift days totalling approx 35 hours a week.  The main duties will be keeping toilets and showers clean and hygienic for our clients as well as odd jobs as directed by the camp manager. Unless you live very locally you would be required to stay on site at the activity camp.

Hours:

Split shift approx 35 hours per week,

Main duties will be keeping the toilets and showers hygienic for our clients.  Other duties will be simple odd jobs as directed by the Camp Manager This job will mainly be cleaning toilets which will be dirty 5 minutes after you’ve cleaned them!
