EXPERIENCED HANDY PERSON

(Permanent Full-Time Position) Immediate Start

We are seeking an EXPERIENCED MAINTENANCE HANDY PERSON with good all-round PROPERTY MAINTENANCE SKILLS.

A jack of all trades who can do the maintenance work across our properties around Cowling as well as being prepared to travel when help is needed at our partnership sites.

The majority of the role will be based at High Adventure Outdoor Education Centre in Cowling.

Applicants must have experience doing the kind of work we are recruiting for and must be able to provide relevant employment references demonstrating this experience.

Typical Tasks

General electrics
General plumbing
General carpentry
Finding leaks / repairing water damage
Repairing locks/doors/windows
Toilet unblock / flushing problems / overflows
Cleaning mould
Hanging doors
Planing sticky doors
Painting
Repairing steps / walls
Replacing light bulbs
Changing light fittings
Installing bathrooms/sanitaryware
Sourcing and installing parts
Heating issues

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: £8.21 to £11.00 /hour – depending on experience

Location: Based in Cowling, North Yorkshire, BD220AA

Hours: 37.5 hours/week. = 8:30am to 5pm. 1 hour lunch.

Benefits:

Description:

This post is perfect for anyone aspiring to be an outdoor instructor or anyone with a passion for the outdoors who would like to gain experience working with children.

We will provide full training in all of our on-site activities and basic first aid training prior to being in charge of groups.

Working on our summer camps is the best way to into our highly successful and popular trainee instructor scheme which runs from January every year at our main site in North Yorkshire.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will have experience of working with groups and skills in one or more areas of outdoor activities.

If you can handle living in a tent for the length of the contract through good weather and bad whilst still turning up for work happy and enthusiastic every day, then you are the right person for this job!
