Cook’s Assistants: Residential Position

We require Assistant Cooks for our Residential Summer Camps. The position will require the successful candidate to be part of a small team preparing and serving three quality meals a day for up to 300 young people and staff. The basic menu is balanced to provide the required nutrition, for the guests, using good quality but simple ingredients.

If you can handle living in a tent for the length of the contract through good weather and bad whilst still turning up for work happy and enthusiastic every day, then you are the right person for this job!
For this position, the cook’s assistant will be supporting the cook and pot washers to ensure the ‘end result’ ie: the correct meal served at the correct time, happens for our clients. The Cook’s Assistant will be responsible for managing the front of house and associated duties. The hours will be a basic split shift of around 7 hours per day. The assistant will be required to be on-site, during the day, as part of the High Adventure Team and will provide meals from Monday lunch to Friday lunch. Living in – Tent provided.

Forest Camp, Northwich, Cheshire – June to August 2020
Kibblestone, Stone, Staffordshire – June to August 2020
Pikes Pool, Bromsgrove, W. Midlands – June to August 2020

Sample Menu:
Breakfast – Cereal, Toast, Fruit Juice, Porridge, Baked Beans.
Lunch – Sandwiches (the guests make their own), Crisps, Fruit, Flapjack.
Evening Meal – Pasta Bolognese, Chocolate Muffin.


Contract Value: £250 per week
