Primary school trips can be one of the best experiences of a child’s formative years, giving children a chance to gain a bit of independence from their parents, whilst developing confidence and social skills. At High Adventure we are specially equipped to facilitate this crucial development.
We provide a full-service and all-inclusive outdoor educational trips for primary schools, ensuring bespoke programming guaranteed to include appropriate activities, the security and standards needed to create a unique educational environment.
At High Adventure we don’t just provide a school trip, but also an extensive outdoor learning experience that ensures each and every child not only participates, but also develops.
All of our courses are curriculum linked with all modules specifically designed to contribute strongly to learning across the core subjects and to satisfy some, if not all, of the requirements of a particular QCA unit. Our orienteering module, for example, covers many aspects for PE at key stages 1 and 2 in addition to a focus on numeracy and literacy with maths and word trails.
We also provide private & high quality accommodation, purposely designed to accommodate primary schools. The Nook, as it is known, is a self-contained accommodation building designed for the use of primary school groups of up to 57 students and 7 teachers. It has its own dining room, social spaces and teachers’ lounge.
Given our unique background, we understand how daunting planning a trip can be for teachers and group leader, so we do our absolute best to make it a simple process. All relevant paperwork is available online in our Resource Centre and we are always on hand to walk you through your booking, giving you more time to focus on what matters!

The focus of the event isn’t solely on winning; for many it is all about participation and the excitement of experiencing a new activity. Most teams comprise of pupils that have very little or often no previous climbing experience.
Each climber receives a participation certificate and the winning team receive medals and a trophy for the school. We also award medals to the runner-up team members.
- Teams of 6 required to enter from years 3-6. Teams are to be individual year groups and there is a maximum entry of 4 teams per school.
- Nominal charge of £5.00 per team member.
The competition is often held in March each year. If your school would like to participate – please contact us for more information.
